"I was born in Persia, and majored in English Teaching & Translation. While studying at university, I started translating English Articles to Farsi language for Art Magazines and Books. After I got my BA, my working hours as a translator got much longer and the more I read articles about Art and specifically Photography, the more I got fascinated about the world of Art. So, I decided to pursue my education in Photography and I got my MA from Art University of Tehran which is the most well-known university in my country. Then I started to teach Art besides my career as a translator. Honestly, the best part of teaching is getting familiar with different walks of life and trying to teach each individual based on his/her needs and abilities. To me, getting to know a group of beautiful teenage girls with special needs was one of the amazing experiences that I’ve ever had as a teacher. Every week I went to an institution for a whole day and taught them Photography for three years. Because of their physical disabilities, they couldn’t hold the camera properly so this made them take pictures from totally different angles. But to tell the truth, their photographs have been the most stunning ones among all the other students that I have ever had. And I am so pleased for that.
Then, I started teaching Art at Azad University of Tehran and besides, I was teaching English in Vesta Language Institute for three years. Along with my teaching and translating career, I did a lot of Portraiture, Event and Product Photography, and had some exhibitions in different galleries. In 2015, I moved to Toronto and started my job as an Art Coordinator and Photographer in Arta Gallery. This was a great chance for me because I met a lot of artists who asked me to take professional pictures of their Artworks and also in the opening ceremonies of their exhibitions. Meanwhile, I exhibited my artworks in different galleries in Toronto, and I had one exhibit in London, Ontario. Working as a freelance photographer besides my part time job gave me this opportunity to experience working in different communities. Later in 2017, I joined Rosetta Visual Art School team as an Art Instructor.
As an Art Instructor, I enjoy creating, and helping other people create too. Not only do I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience about art history and process of making art with others, but also, I enjoy my students to create and experience it too, and know how valuable and impressive Art is in our lives. I have always made a lot of efforts to help them foster the same enthusiasm that I have for Art. In addition, as a photographer, I watch, I eye, I observe; and I watch, I eye, and I observe. All I record comes from how I feel about people or things that I encounter in life. Besides conceptual photography, I take pictures of artists’ artworks and create portfolios and design photobooks for them. I portray my students, my friends and people. And I take pictures of events, opening ceremonies, workshops, presentation sessions and the like. Photographs are a way of imprisoning reality, and that is the most remarkable part of it."
